Recovery
Rest at home with your supportive bra in place. Take prescribed pain relief; avoid reaching above shoulder height.
Tightness across the chest gradually eases. Light daily activity resumes; heavy lifting and exercise remain restricted.
Most patients return to work and light activity. Impact exercise and upper-body gym work requires surgeon clearance.
Implants settle into their final position and feel. The chest softens naturally; scars continue to fade over 12 months.
Safety & Scarring
Risks include infection, bleeding, implant rupture, capsular contracture, implant displacement, altered nipple sensation, scarring, and need for revision. Patients receive individual risk counselling before surgery.

Modern breast implants are built to last 10–20 years or more, but they are not considered lifetime devices. Regular check-ups and occasional imaging are recommended to ensure implant integrity over time.
Some temporary change in sensation is common. Most patients regain full sensation within a few months to a year. Permanent changes are rare but possible — your surgeon will discuss this risk at consultation.
Most women can breastfeed after breast augmentation, particularly when the incision avoids the areola. Discuss your breastfeeding intentions with your surgeon during consultation so the technique can be planned accordingly.
